Who are the Tax Benefits Greeters/Screeners?

Code for America’s Tax Benefits Screener team assist clients with the initial intake process on GetYourRefund to ensure they have a complete ticket prior to the Intake Interview.

You’ll know a user is a Screener by the “(Greeter)” tag that follows their name.

What do they do?

• Verify client’s ID and determine what documents are needed for their tax filing situation.
• Communicate with client and obtain missing info/docs. Screeners are only ensuring that the docs mentioned in the intake form are uploaded.
  • Screeners are not conducting intake interviews to verify the information outlined in the intake form is accurate and correct.
• Name and organize uploaded files to corresponding tax years.
• Complete the 13614-C with the client as much as possible.
• Leave comments in the Notes tab for Partners regarding any potential issues that could affect tax preparation.
