Answer Intake Process Questions

⚠Do not answer any tax-related questions unless you have a current VITA Basic or Advanced Tax certification and the questions are within your scope.

Sometimes a client will include a question in a message or email. As a Greeter, you can answer questions about the intake process. You can also send links to the GYR FAQ page or relevant IRS web pages.

Examples of questions you can answer for a client:

If a tax-related question won't prevent the client from completing the intake process, and is not urgent, you can let the client know that the question will be addressed later in the process, by an Intake Specialist or Tax Preparer.

You can also post questions in the Greeter Slack channel if you are not sure how to respond to a question.

⚠️ If you ever need to ask a question about a specific client or return, post the client number, not the client's name.
